TCI: Police Investigate Overnight Robberies

#Providenciales, October 10, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – Officers of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force are investigating a robbery at a home on Millennium Highway, Blue Hills on Wednesday, October 9th, 2019. The incident reported to 911 was that around 9:55 p.m., two masked gunmen approached a couple as they arrived home and demanded money. The 56-year-old male victim received a single gunshot wound and the 53-year-old female victim received minor injuries. Both were carried to the hospital via EMTs.

Taken were an undisclosed amount of cash and other personal items.

In a second incident, at 8:30 p.m., it was reported to Central that an armed man approached a female staff at a Business establishment at Butterfield Square, Providenciales and demanded money. A second man, who was on the outside of the established was also robbed of his cellphone. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken from the cash register. The masked men made good of their escape in a silver Nissan Car. There were no injuries reported.

In a third incident, at 10:22 p.m., police responded to a robbery at the parking lot of a Millennium Highway Apartment Complex. According to the 44-year-old female complainant, a masked gunman approached her parked vehicle that she occupied and demanded money. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken. No injuries were reported in this incident.
