TCI Cabinet Meeting September 12

#Providenciales, September 27, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – His Excellency the Governor, Nigel Dakin, chaired the 21st meeting of the Cabinet on Thursday 12 September, at the Hilly Ewing Building, Providenciales. 

All ministers were present, in addition to HE the Deputy Governor and the Attorney General.  

At this meeting Cabinet:

·        Approved amendments to the Road Traffic Ordinance and Subsidiary Legislation covering road traffic fees and driver licence fees. Agreement was also reached on the procurement of new licence plates in relation to CCTV being rolled out across TCI.

·        Discussed the independent inquiry into the reasonableness of the rate variation application from Fortis TCI Ltd. and Turks and Caicos Utilities Ltd. report, and agreed next steps for the government.

·        Approved a Supplementary Appropriation Bill (N°1), subject to agreed minor amendments, for onward submission to the House of Assembly.

·        Approved the creation of a trust for the sole purpose of registering a replacement aircraft for the police.
