#Bahamas, September 6, 2019 – Bahamas government leaders say the country is facing its worst crisis as it revealed on Wednesday that the number of lives lost in Hurricane Dorian has climbed to 20, with that figure expected to go higher.
While
the water is receded in Grand Bahama and the sun has come out over Abaco, it is
no paradisiacal day in The Bahamas; it is “horrendous.”
A
national address on Wednesday is where Bahamas Prime Minister Hubert Minnis
said, “So
many families have been deeply impacted” by Dorian, which he said
“has left generational devastation across Abaco and Grand Bahama.”
More manpower assistance and search and rescue expertise arrived in the islands today, courtesy of the United States. It is expected that the bulk of food, supplies and essentials will begin arriving in mass quantities tomorrow.
