#Providenciales, August 15, 2019 – Turks and Caicos Islands – Digicel is giving back in a big way, and encouraging the community to help out too, with its Back to School Drive. Each year, Digicel supports local schools by helping with events, assisting with courses offered at the TCI Community College or providing summer internships for local students to gain real world work experience.

This year, the Back to School Drive aims to collect supplies in order to give students the right start as they kick off the new term. All Digicel stores across the country will have donation bins where the public can drop off school uniforms, books, pens, pencils, crayons and more, then one school on each island will receive these supplies at the beginning of the school year. Digicel will also be making a donation to each school and is encouraging the public to come out and support this initiative and help ensure that the children of TCI have a productive year.

“We all know that kids are the future. We also know that there are many throughout the country who don’t have access to the right supplies to enable their success during the school year. Through this initiative we want to change that, this way, every child can succeed and we help to create a world where no child is left behind”, said Addison Stoddard, CEO of Digicel TCI, on the Back to School initiative.

This drive aims to involve all Turks and Caicos Islanders in ensuring that teachers and students have the tools they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond. Donations will be accepted in all stores up until Saturday, 31 August 2019.
