#Providenciales, August 10, 2019 –
ROBBERIES INVESTIGATED
On Friday,
August 9th, 2019, Central received reports of a robbery at bar and restaurant
located along the leeward highway. According to reports, shortly after
10:00 p.m., the owner was closing when three armed men entered the business
establishment and demanded money. The assailants made good of their escape with
an undisclosed sum of cash. The female owner and 4 bar patrons were
unharmed. There were no reports of shots fired or injuries.
In a second
incident, a male reported to 911 that he was robbed at gunpoint by two masked
men of $US 20.00 near a hotel in leeward. Reports are that the incident took
place after 2:00 a.m., Saturday, August 10th, 2019. The robbers escaped in an orange
Nissan March headed in the direction of the Seven Stars roundabout. There were
no injuries and shots fired in this report.
SLOOP MAKES
LANDFALL
On Saturday,
August 10th, 2019, 911 Central received reports of an illegal sloop landing at
North West Point. Officers of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force
discovered a blue and red illegal vessel on Malcolm’s Beach and saw suspected
illegals running into nearby bushes. Police and Immigration Task Force Officers
detained a total of six illegal Haitians, 3 males, and 3 females. Task Force
Officers are continuing searches in the said area.
GRAND TURK
EARLY MORNING INCIDENTS
Police
Officers on the Island of Grand Turk are investigating two reports today,
August 10th, 2019. In the first report, at 5:03 a.m., a 42-year-old woman
reported that she was awakened to loud noises and discovered a silver car
vandalized. This was not a shooting incident. Scenes of Crime Officers attended
the location.
In the
second incident, Police are investigating, following reports of a vehicle fire.
According to the complainant, she was awakened by a loud noise. The
complainant said, two men were seen setting fire to a silver Suzuki swift.
