#Providenciales, August 16, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – Police, at last report, had no clue what led to a shooting in Grand Turk which resulted in a 22-year old man so critically injured that he was flown out of country, to Jamaica, for urgent medical care.

That man, described by most as LJ, turned up at the Cockburn Town Medical Centre early last Saturday morning, reportedly with a gun shot wound to the head.

Magnetic Media contacted TCI Hospitals about the patient, we were told this: “A young male presented to the emergency room at Cockburn Town Medical Centre with complaints of a head injury on Saturday, August 10th 2019 at 5:45 a.m.  Due to patient confidentiality, the details of the patient’s care cannot be released. However, the hospital can confirm that the patient was treated and transferred to Cheshire Hall Medical Centre in Providenciales for advanced diagnostic imaging. He was in critical condition. Based on the results of the advanced diagnostic imaging, a decision was made to transfer the young male overseas for medical care.”

The man’s condition sadly remains unchanged; he is listed in critical condition and fighting for his life in hospital in Jamaica.

Police are still seeking information in the matter.

TCI Hospitals also assisted with information on the Five Cays man who was reportedly stabbed multiple times.  John Robinson, Magnetic Media is told, was walking home from the beach when he was reportedly ambushed by two assailants, still he managed to escape and that is when Police were called.

Robinson on Wednesday released a disturbing video, saying no one had taken a statement or come to see him to get his account about what happened. Police have still not replied to our requests about the events of that night and the following day.

The patient was discharged in stable condition with a follow-up plan after several hours of observation and monitoring in the emergency department.”

Information on the brutal stabbing came over social media around 8:30 p.m.

It was said by the hospital also pointed out that, “The patient signed a police reporting form, which gives consent for the release of information related to his injuries for investigation purposes.”

Despite rumours of a second stabbing on Monday night past, TCI Hospitals said no one turned up at the Cockburn Town Medical Centre in Grand Turk seeking medical treatment for stab wounds on Monday.
