#Providenciales, August 20, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – The 22-year-old Grand Turk man who was being treated for a gun-shot wound to the head has died.  It is unclear how police will view the death of Lloydell “LJ” Swann, Jr, who on August 10 at 5:45am turned up at the Cockburn Town Medical Centre in Grand Turk with the serious head injury.

He was transferred to the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre in Providenciales and later airlifted to Jamaica, where this past weekend, he died.

Circumstances surrounding the shooting of ‘LJ’ are mysterious.  It is unclear what led to the young man being struck with a bullet and to date police have not informed of how they view the investigation.  There has been a request by Police for information in the matter.

A second man airlifted to Jamaica for medical care following a shooting early Friday morning is said to “be comfortable and in the best of care” following the frightening ordeal where he was robbed of his car and personal items and then dumped along South Dock Road.

Fortunately, the man was able to get help and was transported from South Dock Road to the Cheshire Hall Medical Center by ambulance. The man is identified as Jeamil Jean, a houseman at Ports of Call Resort in Providenciales.

On Friday there had been an urgent appeal for blood donations, which received swift response from the public. Jean is believed to be between 45-50 years old and was airlifted to Jamaica on Saturday August 17, said a co-worker.

The third man to be airlifted had actually been recovering from being shot just weeks before; Rondre Walkin was reportedly recovering from three gunshot wounds already, when he was shot agai on Friday night.

Police in a media release yesterday confirmed a report of shots fired and a man being hit in the spray of bullets in a parking lot on Aviation Drive; it was near the popular Five Dollar Bar.

Management of the Five Dollar Bar explain that the incident was too close for comfort, but that the shooting did not happen at the bar.  “Customers and employees were not even aware until we were informed.  The Five Dollar Bar is a popular down town spot and we will continue to provided a safe environment for all.”

Police patrols of the area have stepped up, it was said and management adds that they are willing to take even greater measures to ensure the safety of patrons.

The current condition of young Rondre Walkin, who was victim in the shooting, remains unknown at this hour.
