TCI: RTCIPF Crime Update

AMMUNITION RECOVERED 

On Friday, July 19, 2019, officers acting on information executed a search warrant at a home on Bay Road, Blue Hills and recovered eight rounds of ammunition.

A 26-year-old man was arrested for suspicion of keeping ammunition and handling stolen goods. The man remains in Police Custody. 

Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE INVESTIGATE ATTEMPTED ROBBERY 

Police are investigating an attempted robbery on Friday, July 19th, 2019 around 7:00 p.m. 

According to 911 central, they received a report of two armed masked men entering a Kew Town grocery store with firearms.  Officers were dispatched to the said location where they saw a burnt orange car on the scene. 

The assailants fled the scene into nearby bushes, making good of their escape. Nothing was reported stolen. There were no reports of shots fired or injuries.

POLICE INVESTIGATE EARLY MORNING SHOOTINGS THAT INJURED THREE MEN

Police responded to reports of shots fired in the vicinity of a bar along the Leeward Highway at 3:14 a.m. on Saturday, July 20th, 2019. A 19-year-old male was taken to hospital for a gunshot wound, he was treated and released. Seven spent shell casings were collected from the scene. 

At 3:23 a.m., Police responded to a shooting, at a bar on Aviation Drive, Providenciales. Two men were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds. According to reports, four masked men in a white Nissan Teana car pulled up at the bar; one of the assailants fired shots. 

There are no reports of deaths.
