#Providenciales, July 31, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – The Turks and Caicos Islands Government recognizes the importance and necessity of modernizing the existing legal and regulatory framework governing the energy sector to ensure the creation of a regulatory environment that fosters and support innovation and development of the sector.

The Government is also cognizant of the need for increased use of renewable energy to minimize dependence on fossil fuels and to ensure an appropriate mix of resources that results in the sustainability of the energy sector and the continued growth and socio-economic development of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Building on years of work related to the reform of the energy sector, The Ministry of Home Affairs, Public Utilities and Transportation invites feedback and comments from all stakeholders and the general public on the Draft Electricity Amendment Bill 2019.
