TCI: Murder enquiry launched after shooting incident

#Providenciales, July 31, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – At just before 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday July 30th, 2019 a number of calls were made to the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RTCIPF) 911 Centre of a shooting at a Bar on South Dock Road, Providenciales.

As a result of this incident, a man, believed to be 23 years old, received a gunshot wound and was taken to the Hospital. Sadly, he was pronounced dead a short time later. Detectives from the RTCIPF have launched a murder enquiry.

Commissioner of Police, Trevor Botting said:

“Another young life has been tragically lost to a senseless violent crime. Someone must know who carried out this shooting and I implore anyone with information to call my detectives in complete confidence. We need to bring those responsible to justice and draw together to end the cycle of violence that blights so many lives. My thoughts are with the family and friends of the young man who died this evening”.
