TCI: Marine Branch Intercepts Two Illegal Vessels

#Providenciales, July 3, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – Following detection by the Coastal Radar System, an Illegal vessel containing 30 illegal Haitian migrants was successfully intercepted on Monday, July 1st, 2019 at 11:30 p.m. by the Marine Branch Unit.

The Marine Branch M/V Sea Pursuit towed in the 30 ft illegal vessel with 25 males, and 5 females on board. While entering the entrance of the marina, two illegal migrants jumped overboard and escaped.

A second illegal vessel was intercepted by the M/V Sea Guardian on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 at 10:00 p.m. The 30ft vessel was carrying 20 males and 6 females.

The detainees were handed over to Task Force members who escorted them to the Detention Centre for processing and repatriation.
