TCI: Florinda Gardiner-Talbot appointed as Contract Performance Manager

#Providenciales, July 22, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – The Turks and Caicos Government is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Florinda Gardiner-Talbot as the new Contract Performance Manager within the Ministry of Health Agriculture Sports and Human Services.

Mrs. Gardiner-Talbot returned to the Turks and Caicos Islands in 2017 after holding several key healthcare positions in the United Kingdom and rejoined the civil service in April 2018 as the Deputy Contract Performance Manager within the Ministry of Health.  She holds a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons.) in Health and Social Care and an MBA (Distinction) in Hospital and Health Services Management from the University of Bedfordshire in Luton, United Kingdom.

As Deputy Contract Performance Manager, Mrs. Gardiner-Talbot participated in key activities including but not limited to inspections of hospital facilities, monitoring post hurricane repairs, collaborated with multi-stakeholders on the launching of the Sexual Assault Referrals Center (SARC) and most recently assessment of Overseas Providers services and facilities.

Mrs. Gardiner-Talbot stated; “I am honored to have been selected as the new Contract Performance Manager. My team and I will continue to work diligently to foster a strong relationship with key stake holders to ensure that high quality health care is provided for our service users.”

Commenting on her appointment Deputy Governor Anya Williams said; “We are pleased to congratulate Mrs. Gardiner-Talbot on her recent promotion within the civil service.  She has been an asset to the Ministry of Health during her tenure as the Deputy Contract Performance Manager and has demonstrated strong technical, professional and leadership skills, allowing her to excel to this elevated position. 

“The role of Contract Performance Manager is key in ensuring that the contractual obligations of the hospital services contract are being delivered upon and that the healthcare needs of the people of these islands are being met and managed in accordance with the Project Agreement. We wish Mrs. Gardiner-Talbot well on her new appointment and congratulate her on her rapid progression with the Turks and Caicos Islands Civil Service.”
