#Providenciales, June 14, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – It must have been a frantic fight for the life of nine-year-old Gedson, the Five Cays boy who mysteriously died on Tuesday; the TCI Hospitals is now commenting on the death of the child which happened earlier this week.

“On 11th June 2019, a male child was brought to the emergency department of the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre by the Ministry of Health, Agriculture, Sports and Human Services emergency medical ambulance services unresponsive with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) ongoing.”

Gedson was a student at Enid Capron Primary, his mother thought he had a fever and as mothers do, she took him to get medical care.  It was a private facility.  We are told that the ambulance was called because the child’s condition was so severe.

TCI Hospitals continued with: “The emergency team continued the resuscitation and worked arduously to revive the young child but there was no response.”

The boy’s father had just returned home after a trip to Haiti; our source who contacted the family explain they are devastated.  Fortunately, there will be some support says the TCI Hospitals.

“Immediate grief counseling was provided to the parents and additional services are being arranged for the parents through the Mental Health Department. Our hearts go out to the parents and family and we offer our deepest condolences.”

The Police on Tuesday confirmed that Central Station was contacted about the death of the boy.  A postmortem or autopsy will be performed today, Magnetic Media is told, to determine exactly what happened to cause the death of the 9-year-old.
