#Providenciales, May 1, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – No one said it, but I am sure we all wished he had come donning those eight Olympic Gold medals on his chest… that golden collection is world famous and untouched by any athlete of any time.  Given Usain Bolt’s nature, it was unlikely, but one could hope…

Usain Bolt is the greatest of all time, yet, that fact was undetectable as the lean and long world’s fastest man on record quietly exited the arrivals area of the Providenciales International Airport and stepped foot into Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands for the first time… ever.

But Bolt did not forget the bling; on top of his head and simple black cap with a not so simple message.  ‘A Team’ and that was all gold-coloured and then there was his infectious smile, given to, who else but a child.

Our little Jessie Hall is just five years old, but she wandered over to Usain and, on cue, presented Mr. Bolt with a gorgeous bouquet, mainly of soft white lilies.

Little Miss Hall was shy during her presentation, but completely adorable.  Everybody laughed when Jessie immediately ran away once her duty was done.

Our tiny ambassador did warm up, and was a part of the first official photograph of Mr. Bolt in the Turks and Caicos.

Usain Bolt held wide the gift of a Turks and Caicos flag and he and Jessie were joined by executives of Digicel – Addison Stoddard, TCI CEO and Sinead O’Marcaigh, Regional CEO and Director of Sports for the TCI, Jarrett Forbes.

Soon, the legendary sportsman, who hails from Jamaica and is the Chief Speed Officer or CSO of Digicel slid into a luxury SUV and sailed off to his suite on the World’s #1 Beach, Grace Bay.

There were no questions today; that will happen tomorrow at a formal press conference to launch the TCI Film Festival.

Interestingly, Usain Bolt will focus on the humanities while in the territory.  The Digicel Ambassador will be the feature at a youth rally set for Clement Howell High school tomorrow, will appear at the Digicel main store from 2-4 p.m. and his key focus is the Digicel sponsored TCI Film Festival, TCIFF.

A cocktail reception on Wednesday May 1, 2019 will allow for a mix and mingle and it is also where world renowned Turks and Caicos artist, Bradley (Theodore) Harvey will unveil and auction a special new piece.

The TCI Film Festival is slated for November 2019.
