TCI: First Woman; First Local; First Person

#Providenciales, May 29, 2019 – Turks and Caicos –Snjezana Andrews, Principal and CEO of The A Team, local CPA Firm, is the first Woman; first Local and first Person to sit as the Turks and Caicos Islands’ representative for the Institute of Chartered Accountant of the Caribbean’s (ICAC) Board of Directors. The Turks and Caicos Islands’ Society of Professional Accountants (TCISPA) has become an affiliate of the institute since March of 2018.

Snjezana has been selected to represent the Turks & Caicos at ICAC’s Board level, being nominated as the Country representative for TCISPA since June 2018 and was since re-elected to serve another year through to June 2020.  

She represented at the 82nd Board meeting in June of 2018 held at the Atlantis Resort in Nassau Bahamas. TCISPA President, Nick Haywood, was also in attendance. Snjezana is slated to make her contribution again at the 85th Board meeting this coming June 2019 at the Pegasus Hotel in Kingston, Jamaica. Some of the issues to be discussed are Regional and global reach of the entity; ensuring sustainability and relevancy of the Organization; brand building and relevancy regionally and worldwide amongst other things.

ICAC was established in the Caribbean in 1988. Since its establishment, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Caribbean has provided a forum for the advancement of the accountancy profession in the Caribbean.

Today, with a network of approximately 4,000 professionals, the ICAC is the leading regional organization dedicated to advancing the interest of accountants and professionals in the finance industry within the Caribbean through the promotion of internationally acceptable standards and best practices, thought leadership, research and continuing professional development.

Snjezana is a Certified Public Accountant for over a past decade, holding a Masters’ in Business Management and dual Bachelor’s Degrees; one in Accounting and the other in Finance. She is the Owner of a number of Companies in Turks & Caicos including the first ever payroll processing Company to hit the Island, Paycheques. She sits as Board Treasurer, an Executive Director role for United Way TCI (UWTCI); United Way being named by Forbes List in 2016 and 2017 as being the leading US Charity Organization in the World.
