TCI: Business Continuity Planning Workshop 3rd – 6th June, 2019

#Providenciales, May 31, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – On 3rd – 6th June, 2019, the Department of Disaster Management and Emergencies (DDME) will be hosting its second Business Continuity Planning (BCP) Workshop for the year. The workshop will be hosted at the Life Centre, Old Airport Road on Grand Turk; beginning at 9:00am.

The 4-day Workshop, aims to present a clear methodology for protecting any size or type of business/organisation against any natural or man-made hazards that may result in a disaster.  This Workshop takes the form of a Write-shop’,in that, at the end of the 4 day period, each participant would have a written Business Continuity Plan for their Department/Agency which is consistent with industry standards and best practices. 

Strong participation from all Ministries is crucial as the Workshop is designed for executives, managers, and planners from within the TCIG Public Service that are either responsible for the development of Business Continuity Plans/Disaster Recovery Plans or responsible for the management of Continuity of Operations and Contingency Planning elements within their organization.

The facilitator for the Training Workshop is Dr. Evan Inniss-Springer, Deputy Director with the Department of Disaster Management of the British Virgin Islands (BVI). Dr. Inniss-Springer is a certified Emergency Manager and a Certified Continuity Manager with over 25 years’ experience in the disaster risk management field; having worked at the regional level with CDERA/CDEMA, internationally with PAHO and nationally in the BVI.
