Made of Steel: Magnetic Media, now 11 Years old nearing 1000 episodes
#Providenciales, April 8, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – Crime and politics, tragedies and controversies as often recurring news stories where the faces and places were the usual cast of characters all began taking their toll on me as a journalist and I needed a creative project…
Because I have always found nature a remedy and escape, it is no surprise that I would name my new TV show after the ocean of our region: Turquoise Morning was born.
It was specifically inspired by the waters of Chalk Sound, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands; a sweet view of this pristine, protected spot can be found on Picturesque Lane, off South Dock Road.
That is how Turquoise Morning TV show came into being… it is how the company Magnetic Media was established… and eleven years later, I am still enthused about our three-time Telly Award winning work which has given exposure to thousands of stories across our region.
Festivals, parades, conferences, conventions, unveilings, inaugurations, town meetings, parliamentary meetings, hat shows, pet shows, martial arts classes, jewelry making classes, cooking classes, health fairs, book launches, multi-city tours, awards ceremonies, at historic landmarks, world wonders, flanking flamingoes, irritating iguana, elevated on an elephant, we have been on the sea, in the air, on boats, ski-lifts, trams, buses, ships, in the sand, including pink sand, rode bicycles, played in the snow, climbed up mountains, rode along rivers, been up famous stairs, down in dungeons and on beautiful balconies. Our team has met such a range of intriguing, inspiring people in the Caribbean, in South America, in North America and even as far away as Asia.
Magnetic Media has been privileged to cover the from the simple to the simply fabulous… and we continue to love every minute of it!
We are quickly approaching the mark of 1,000 episodes of our flag ship TV show and have nearly 3,800 videos posted at our YouTube channel where there are over 1,800 subscribers, mainly from the United States and Canada.
Our TV show is aired five days a week; Mondays to Fridays – three times a day on One Caribbean Weather Channel.
Millions of potential viewers because the channel is on TV in 28 Caribbean countries including Jamaica, Guyana, St. Lucia, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Aruba, Puerto Rico, Turks and Caicos and The Bahamas plus in US cities like New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia and Washington, DC.
Magnetic Media does so much and we could not have done it without people like Lindy Rigby, Corey Hamilton, Tanya Northeast-Been, Tiffany Johnson and major sponsors like FortisTCI, Cairsea, the Lodgings and our longest supporter: FlowTCI.
Wonderful people have been on board and assisted our Turquoise Morning mantra which is to Celebrate the People, Places & Plans of the Caribbean.

Now, we are busy with a news website, a news mobile app, a daily video news report, continued news and events coverage mainly in the TCI and The Bahamas and our latest addition, Turks and Caicos News Daily, our online newspaper.
For the 11th Anniversary, it is said the traditional gift is STEEL; because the 11th year represents strength.
