Grand Turk, April 25, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – Images
of raging, isolated infernos were shared on social media and the photographs
looked disturbingly like scenes from Haiti recently where there was civil
unrest, rioting and looting.
One
social media writer said, “Grand Turk was a den of criminal activity last
night, the criminals tried to set fire to the black plastic surrounding the old
library premises…” the person continued with, “then they moved to backsalina
area where they set fires to the trash outside Sunny Foods and Smart.”
Police
just after 3 p.m. today reported that there were two fires and a suspect is in
custody.
“Police
on Grand Turk are investigating two fires that were reported on Wednesday,
April 24th, 2019. In the first incident, at 12:05 a.m. 911 received
