#Providenciales, March 2, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – Next generation executives of the family-owned Building Materials Limited Do it Center yesterday morning turned over a stunning ‘hut’ to the Turks and Caicos National Trust, and it will serve ideally as the gift shop and administrative office at the Cheshire Hall Slave Plantation.

Brilliant white wash, apple green doors and windows, a rustic brown trim, thatched roof and propped high, just like in the old days was the hut which sits near the entrance of the site on Leeward Highway.

Purchasing manager and architect, Keir Adams designed the ‘hut’. The 12ft by 12ft hut was constructed by the Do it Center and hauled to the slave plantation where it was ready for use.

Executive Director of the National Trust, Ethlyn Gibbs-Williams was all smiles with hearty thank you to the Do it Center; naming in particular Ken Adams and his eldest son, Kenny Adams who answered the call of the Trust for support. The younger Adams is a former member of the Turks and Caicos National Trust’s board.

Sites managed and maintained by the Turks and Caicos National Trust across the country took a severe beating in the hurricanes of 2017. Gibbs-Williams said repairs are ongoing, with more work due for completion by end March.
