EU & TCIG lay cornerstone for NEW primary school construction in Provo

#Providenciales, March 29, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – Magnetic Media photograph highlights of the Ministry of Education & European Union cornerstone laying ceremony held earlier TODAY at the NEW primary school for Providenciales; Long Bay Primary School.

A $5 million project for 500 children being constructed by JaMalCo is another partnership between the EU and TCIG.

EU Ambassador with responsibility for the Turks and Caicos Islands, Her Excellency Malgorzata Wasilewska was in country for the event… also in attendance: Deputy Governor, HE Anya Williams, also EU programme manager for the territory; Speaker of the House, Hon Dwayne Taylor; Deputy Premier, Hon Sean Astwood; Minister of Health, Hon Edwin Astwood; Minister of Infrastructure, Hon Goldray Ewing and Premier & Finance Minister, Hon Sharlene Robinson who also represented Hon Karen Malcolm, (absent) and the Ministry of Education.

It was a festive occasion with welcome by Permanent Secretary at MoEYCLS, Wesley Clerveaux and specifics of the project described by Deputy Director of Public Works, Gavin Thomas… sweetly, there was entertainment by Long Bay High School’s Steel drum band and Enid Capron Primary school’s Rip Saw band.

The event was moderated by Education Director, Edgar Howell with Vote of Thanks by Dariah Thomas, Education Officer.
