Temporary Closure of The Bahamas Embassy in Port-au-Prince, Haiti
#Nassau, February 17, 2019 – Bahamas – The public is advised that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has recalled its diplomatic personnel at the Embassy of The Bahamas in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, for consultations on the ongoing political unrest in Port-au-Prince. As a result, the Embassy will be temporarily closed as of 16 February 2019 until further notice.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to monitor the situation and will reopen the Embassy once the situation stabilizes.
No consular services will be available in Haiti until the Embassy reopens and the public is advised to contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its out-of-hours number at +1-242-827-3106 if there is an emergency .
