TCI: ‘I Love Me’ says Long Bay High students
#Providenciales, February 21, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – It is not too late to give a special Valentine and at Long Bay High School in Providenciales, the love being encouraged was good old fashioned, yet healthy self-esteem.
Donning their dazzling red, 250 students today took to the streets for a Drug Free Walk-a-Thon dubbed, ‘Love Yourself.’
Red shirts and red ribbons were all a reflection of a commitment by the students to stand against drug use and abuse in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
“Funds raised during the walk-a-thon will go to outfitting athletes for the upcoming Inter High School Track and Field competition which is slated for March 9-11,” explained LBHS’s Guidance Counsellor.
To drive home the message of ‘saying no to drugs’ the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police also visited the school compound, where they spoke to Long Bay High students about the dangers of drug use; that talk happened on Valentine’s Day February 14, 2019.
