#Providenciales, February 5, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – While George Lightbourne tells Magnetic Media that he is expecting and welcoming more people to the leadership race of the Opposition PNP, it is today clear that Rufus Ewing is not interested in the post he left in 2016.

Another self-recorded video is making social media rounds and features Rufus Ewing telling anyone listening why he won’t enter the race.  Dr. Ewing, who served as premier of the islands from November 2012 to December 2016 says he is in a ‘valley experience’ and while his political career is not yet done, it is not yet ready for a reboot.

It was widely rumored that Rufis Ewing was planning a return to frontline politics.

The PNP has been without a leader since Dr. Ewing resigned a day after a crushing defeat for the Progressive National Party at the polls; he also lost his seat in parliament.

So far one person has publicly announced that he has applied to become leader of the PNP.
