Hundreds of new resort rooms coming for Turks and Caicos

#Providenciales, February 20, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – At least 868 new hotel rooms are coming for the Turks and Caicos Islands due to developments in the tourism industry, reported the Minister of Infrastructure and Housing, Goldray Ewing in the House of Assembly on Monday.

In his ministerial statement, the Minister who over sees the Physical Planning Department gave a comprehensive report on projects from the public to the private sector including CCTV, reconstruction works at public schools, water and sewerage update and a breakdown of the resort developments and expansions across the archipelago.

Areas to see developments and additional resort rooms are Grace Bay, The Bight, Cheshire Hall, Turtle Cove, Long Bay Hills and Leeward in Providenciales.  Bottle Creek and Sandy Point in North Caicos are also poised for development and Sail Rock Estates in South Caicos is proposing 78 villas in the ‘fishing capital’.

Eight of the projects listed in parliament are ‘under review’ at the Physical Planning Department with two projects, namely Core Resources’ Silver Bay development in North Caicos and the Desarollos Hotelco’s 12-storey structure both reported as being ‘under construction’, according to Minister Ewing.
