Brand TCI Expanding To New Markets

#Providenciales, February 8, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – The TCHTA in partnership with the Turks and Caicos Tourist Board held its first ever Sales & Marketing meeting on Monday, January 21st at The Shore Club on Long Bay Beach.  The event saw travel partners and stakeholders come together to focus on new ways to develop and market ‘brand TCI’ to the world.

Teams from numerous members of the Turks & Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association (TCHTA) attended the event. With a view to focus their individual efforts into a combined approach, they strategized to bolster existing initiatives while creating new ways to capture the attention of new and untapped markets.

Stacy Cox, CEO of the TCHTA, led the meeting and spoke highly of the initiative saying, “This is exciting as it shows that even though we’re an industry made up of different hotels, properties, business owners and organizations with their own corporate objectives, we all understand that we have the same objective of increasing our appeal as a top destination to the world”.

The discussion covered all aspects of marketing including hosting new events and better use of content creators and
influencers.  “Social media marketing is today’s standard and the growth of brand TCI depends on our ability to truly utilize this medium.  By bringing key influencers in the social media space on board, we’ll expand our reach even further” said Cox.

There were also discussions about adding destination branded events onto current marketing trips where the TCI sees a substantial delegation in attendance such as the International Luxury Travel Market and the Island Destination Awards.  The meeting resulted in plans being mapped out for a number of events for 2019.  All parties, including those that traveled to island to be a part of the dialogue, have a clearer understanding of how to move forward together in promoting these ‘Beautiful by Nature’ islands to the world. The plan is for this to be just the first of many meetings like this. With the foundation set, things are looking promising for the follow-up Sales & Marketing gathering tentatively scheduled for November of this year.
