TCI: ONLINE SURVEY – Plastic Straw, Styrofoam and Polystyrene Ban Considerations

#Providenciales, January 17, 2019 – Turks and Caicos – Residents and members of the business community of the Turks and Caicos Islands are invited to engage in an online survey (below) on Plastics Straw, Styrofoam and Polystyrene ban considerations.

The purpose of this survey is to determine the community’s current use of Plastic Straws, Styrofoam and Polystyrene and considerations for a complete ban in the Turks and Caicos Islands.  The outcome of the survey will be used to design a program to assist and support the Government’s effort in reducing the use of Plastics Straw, Styrofoam and Polystyrene.

Duration – The survey will be available to residents and members of the business community from January 16th-30, 2019.

Method – The survey can be accessed on the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ban

The survey will also be collected in hardcopy at the District Commissioner’s (DC) offices in South Caicos, North Caicos, Middle Caicos and Salt Cay.

Additionally, comments/opinions on the proposed ban on Plastic Straw, Styrofoam and Polystyrene can be submitted to: consultation@gov.tc
