Ritz Carlton bringing luxury back to Dominican Republic, $350M investment made

#PuertoPlata, January 14, 2019 – Dominican Republic – Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic is getting a $350m investment as the Ritz Carlton Hotel company has announced that it will build three luxury resorts on the northern coast of what is one of the region’s most popular tourist destinations.

A RitzCarlton, a W and a Luxury Collection hotel are all planned for the DR’s tourism hub.  Herve Hulmer, president and CEO of the RitzCarlton Hotel Company said to media that they are partnering with the Ocean Club Group on the new resorts which are also looking to employ as many as 2,000 people.

According to Mr. Humler, the plan is to target upper-echelon luxury travelers — and “bring them back to the Dominican Republic.”
