Give It Up Baby – Visage

#Nassau, January 19, 2019 – Bahamas – Fresh on the heels of the releases of both the “Goombay” and “Gaulin” riddims featuring Dyson & Wendy Knight, Benje, and Patrice Murrell, all members of the star-studded front line of the big band, Visage, this dynamic unit has released its own offering for 2019 entitled “Give It Up Baby”.

This release is a remake of a tune written and recorded by legendary Bahamian entertainer, Sly Roker over thirty years ago who now lives in the Turks and Caicos Islands and features incredible lead vocals performed by Nehemiah Hield.

Ironically both the original and this new version were produced by Bahamian producer, Kendal Stubbs, the man who produced those iconic early Baha Men smash hits including “Back To The Island”, “Mama Lay Lay Lay” and “Dance To The Junkanoo”.  Stubbs was more than ably assisted by Freddie “Gotstykz” Seymour  with “Sketch” Carey producing the background vocals.

“Give It Up Baby” is driven by its slow but pulsating, infectious junkanoo riddim with blended with contemporary musicality to make it appealing for the broader musical world and is sure to quickly become a radio and club favorite of many..

Last but not least, this song is dedicated to the memory of R&B singer, Johnny Kemp (1959-2016), high school classmate and childhood best friend of Visage band leader, Obi Pindling.  Sleep on, dear brother.  Gone too soon but God knows best.
