#Georgetown, January 14, 2019 – Guyana – Guyana will continue to enjoy Caribbean Airlines connections for tourism growth and support of their annual tourism awards gala on December 11, 2018.  It was a pledge the airline made in December at the annual event held at the Pegasus Hotel in Georgetown where among the prizes were trips on board Caribbean Airlines.

According to a release from the airline, Caribbean Airlines and the Guyana Tourism Authority enjoy a productive relationship and the airline has supported the GTA throughout the year by providing special rates for international bloggers and journalists to explore and report on the wonders of Guyana.

It was also said at the gala by Dione Ligoure, who is Caribbean Airlines Head of Corporate Communications that Guyana is a significant market, the airline transports over 350,000 people to and from Guyana each year through its six daily flights to and from Guyana.  In 2018, the airline increased its direct services between New York’s JFK International Airport and the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, which it says was well received by travelers.
