Bonaire gets more cruise, less air arrivals in 2018

#Bonaire, January 14, 2019 – Caribbean Netherlands – You can call it a bitter sweet story for tourism in Bonaire as air arrivals were down five per cent and cruise arrivals surged by 88 percent in 2018 for the country.    Some have blamed the dip in air passengers for 2018 to problems at the regional airline company.

Bonaire, one of three jewels in the Dutch Caribbean crown known as the ABC islands, sees most of its guests from the US and the Netherlands.  Over 128,500 tourists arrived in 2018 by air and the numbers for cruise arrivals were up a fantastic 88 percent to bring 407 thousand guests to Bonaire.
