#Bermuda, January 16, 2018 – Tourism Minister for Bermuda, Zane DeSilva has forecast that cruise industry taxes will earn the government $7.9m in 2019.

Cruise arrivals for the Caribbean surged in 2018 overall and that will continue for Bermuda specifically as it is already projected that an extra 68,000 cruise ship visitors will disembark in Hamilton.  Cruise ship calls to Bermuda are reportedly set to climb to 192 and 544,000 passengers, which is a 14 per cent surge over 2018.

Minister DeSilva advised that though this increase in cruise passengers is attention grabbing, the government of Bermuda is still focused on ensuring air arrivals also experience a hike.
