TCI: Police apprehends robbery suspects early Saturday morning
#Providenciales, December 1, 2018 – Turks and Caicos – Two suspected armed robbers are currently in Police custody, following a robbery in the early hours of Saturday, December 1, 2018, where a vehicle was stolen by persons who were believed to be armed with firearms.
Two non-police issued firearms were recovered from the scene.
Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police James Smith said, “This incident remains an active incident and further persons are being sought in connection with the robbery. In addition to the investigation into the robbery, a separate investigation is being undertaken into the circumstances of the discharge of the police firearm. This is routine in these circumstances”.
