#Nassau, November 29, 2018 – Bahamas – It made top news on Good Morning America this morning; a jaw dropping allegation which raises serious suspicion about the safety of the Caribbean’s Leading Luxury All-inclusive hotel conglomerate, Sandals Resorts.

A destination wedding is said to have gone frighteningly wrong when on the eve of her wedding, a bride claims to have been sexually assaulted by a butler at Sandals Royale Bahamian in Nassau, Bahamas.

The case from April 2016 is making news because the couple is suing Sandals Resort for $30 million for their marred wedding experience and claims that Sandals tried to pay them ‘hush money’.

The couple told their story to America’s leading morning magazine show, and with their attorney supporting them, Ashley and Jeff Pascarella claim their Sandals Resort butler, Morle Adderley, admitted guilt of the sexual assault.  The assault reportedly happened while the groom was taking a shower and the bride was asleep.  Adderley was ultimately fired from his job.

“When I woke up, that’s when I discovered that he was standing over me with his hands in my pants,” Ashley Pascarella told the ABC News journalist.

We reached out to The Royal Bahamas Police Force and to Sandals Resorts International after getting a cell phone video of the story which is circulating on social media.

Sandals Resorts International replied.

Sandals intends to vigorously defend itself in court against these one-sided allegations and looks forward to presenting the full picture of all the facts and circumstances surrounding this reported incident from 2016.”

The couple, which went ahead with their wedding ceremony on April 15, 2016 told GMA that Sandals offered them reimbursement of $15,000 on the condition that a non-disclosure agreement be signed.  The Pascarellas say they refused.

Sandals in its statement to Magnetic Media today described its long reputation of accommodating destination weddings and threw suspicion on the credibility of the allegation, vowing to expose the full story in court in defense of its reputation.

Because of this dedication to service and the safety and experience of all our guests, we take this type of allegation very seriously. Over three decades, we’ve had the distinct privilege of welcoming well over 10 million valued guests and continue to celebrate over 10,000 weddings yearly across our 24 resorts.”

The report on Good Morning America gave little focus to Sandals media statement which also included this account of the complaint filed:  “The New York civil complaint filed yesterday seeking compensation from Sandals presents a self-serving, one-sided and incomplete version of an incident reported in 2016. The plaintiffs have unfortunately embarked to influence the case using a choreographed media campaign based on their one-sided narrative. Upon receipt of the initial report, Sandals contacted the police and terminated the employee in question.”

Adderley, the man at the root of this ‘nightmare’ experience for the American couple was also pictured in the news report.

Bahamian Police say they are not readily familiar with the case.
