Grand Turk, November 8, 2018 – Turks and Caicos – Grand Turk Member of Parliament Edwin Astwood says roadworks in Palm Grove, Grand Turk has been sabotaged by deliberate vandalism.

“Some person or persons had cut all the hydraulic lines on the asphalt paving machines that were in Palm Grove for the asphalt paving of the roads in North and South Backsalina.  Police were on the scene to investigate a few moments ago.”, said Minister Astwood, who is the Member of Parliament for the area.

Astwood, who is also the Minister of Health and Human Services believes the act is politically motivated.  Grand Turk has been plagued with vandalism and arson cases for nearly three years now.

Island Drill of Grand Turk owns the equipment contracted by TCIG for the long-anticipated roadworks.

Unconfirmed but reported was another fire overnight; a vehicle was said to have been set ablaze in the Capital island.
