TCI: Department of Statistics accepting applications for Enumerators for its upcoming surveys

#Providenciales, October 3, 2018 – Turks and Caicos – The Department of Statistics is now accepting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to work as TEMPORARY Enumerators on its upcoming surveys.

The department is urging residents from all islands across the Turks and Caicos Islands to offer themselves, as Surveys are essential for effective development planning and is an important statistical endeavor that any country undertakes.  Prospective Enumerators must be at least 18 years of age and; must have a clean police record; must be able to write legibly, possess good numerical and reading skills; must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills; be available to work on evenings and weekends as and when required; and be available to attend two days of training on a full time basis in preparation for the survey.

Applicants must be available to work during the period November 2018 and January 2019.  If selected, the incumbent will be expected to: Locate and visit personally the selected dwellings in the enumeration district (s) to which he/she may be assigned; Complete survey forms accurately for each person and each dwelling according to instructions; Assist any other Enumerator in the performance of his/her duties in any other enumeration district if so directed by the Survey Supervisor; and Assist the Survey Supervisor in the performance of such other duties as the Survey Supervisor may determine.

Selection will be based on successful completion of: Training and Evaluation Test and Mock Interviews.

Exclusions: Those persons employed with professional obligations that may conflict with the confidentiality provision within the Statistics Ordinance 2012. For example, persons employed within the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force and the Immigration Department.

 

Persons that do not have or cannot show proof of a clean police record will be excluded. N.B:

  1. Application forms for persons applying can be collected from the Department of Statistics in Grand Turk, District Commissioners Offices throughout the Islands, Department of Labour, and can also be printed from the Department’s website: www.sppdtci.com.
  2. Creole and Spanish speaking persons are invited to apply.
  3. Preference will be given to persons who would have worked previously as enumerators, unemployed persons and college students.
  4. All applications must be accompanied by curriculum vitae along with a police record. No application will be processed unless it is accompanied by a police record.
