#Providenciales, October 29, 2018 – Turks and Caicos – A new block, a new training manager and the hunt for yet another new prison superintendent are all measures in the works to see improvements at Her Majesty’s Prison in Grand Turk.

The last prison superintendent resigned, as did the two superintendents before him.  It was sudden and charges of a seemingly unbreakable system of archaically doing things at the facility, is cited as the key reason for Steve Redford absconding the post.

It was reported that the now resigned Steve Redford  found functioning at the prison frustrating and so he quit; Redford had been superintendent a mere five months and was the third superintendent to leave the job at HMP in just four years.

A report from Home Affairs at the National Security Council meeting revealed that still, changes are on the horizon for the fraught facility.
