#Providenciales, September 17, 2018 – Turks and Caicos – The Turks and Caicos Commonwealth Games in collaboration with its affiliate organization, TAFISA ( The Association For International Sport for All) will partner with the TCI Department of Youth and the Ministry of Health and Sports to celebrate World Walking Day under the theme: “Walk for a cause: take back our streets; take back our future”.
In light of the current critical social issues facing the youth of the Turks and Caicos Islands, the group will embark on a national call for action in observance of the upcoming National Youth Day celebrations.
The objective is to have the public’s participation in a walk to promote causes that are pertinent to our country today, thereby bringing about awareness to those causes and positive change. The group will walk for the following causes:
Youth Empowerment
Sports Advancement
Holistic Wellness- Physical, Spiritual and Mental; and
End to Violence
This community changing event will take place on Friday, September 28th in Grand Turk and Saturday, September 29th in Providenciales.
The Team is inviting the participation of all government / non- government departments, schools, churches, civic organizations, private sector organizations – all persons who have an interest in the TCI and desire to see a better and brighter future for the TCI.
