TCI: “Walk For A Cause: Take Back Our Streets/Take Back Our Future” – Natioan Call For Action

#Providenciales, September 17, 2018 – Turks and Caicos – The Turks and Caicos Commonwealth Games in collaboration with its affiliate organization, TAFISA  ( The Association For International Sport for All)  will partner with the TCI Department of Youth and the Ministry of Health and Sports to celebrate World Walking Day under the theme: “Walk for a cause: take back our streets; take back our future”.  

In light of the current critical social issues facing the youth of the Turks and Caicos Islands, the group will embark on a national call for action in observance of the upcoming National Youth Day celebrations.

The objective is to have the public’s participation in a walk to promote causes that are pertinent to our country today, thereby bringing about awareness to those causes and positive change. The group will walk for the following causes:

• Youth Empowerment
• Sports Advancement
• Holistic Wellness- Physical, Spiritual and Mental; and
• End to Violence

This community changing event will take place on Friday, September 28^th in Grand Turk and  Saturday, September 29^th in Providenciales.

The Team is inviting the participation of all government / non- government departments, schools, churches, civic organizations, private sector organizations – all persons who have an interest in the TCI and desire to see a better and brighter future for the TCI.
