#Providenciales, September 17, 2018 – Turks and Caicos – interCaribbean Airways is pleased to continue to offer its sought-after service with the new Salt Cay services from Grand Turk with services that began on September 12th, 2018, alongside the new services connecting Grand Turk with South Caicos from September 1, 2018.   Grand Turks now connects non-stop to three Turks & Caicos Islands.

These new services recognize the commitment of the Turks & Caicos Government in providing a guarantee for essential air services giving the residents of Salt Cay access to the wider Caribbean via Providenciales, and to visitors from around the world who seek out the quiet and peaceful setting that a visitor to Salt Cay and South Caicos is seeking.

“We recognize the Government of the Turks & Caicos Islands in its commitment, to provide this essential air service, that connects these Islands with the rest of the world, via interCaribbean services to Providenciales, the Caribbean, and onward connections to the world, said Trevor Sadler, CEO for interCaribbean Airways.

Flights from Grand Turk (GDT) to Salt Cay (SLX) and Grand Turk to South Caicos (XSC) are operated by nine seat Britten Norman Islander Aircraft.  The services from Grand Turk to South Caicos is five days per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday) with two services per day.  Flights from Grand Turk to Salt Cay operate three days per week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) with two services per day.

With the continued growth of interCaribbean Airways as the leading airline of the Caribbean, the need for more pilots continues.  The recent promotion of Turks and Caicos Islander, Capt Kirk Adams, to Deputy Director Operations, highlights the growing opportunity for students to consider a path in Aviation, and encourage the support of the schools and Government in exploring this career path.
