#Providenciales, Augsut 2, 2018 – Turks and Caicos  – The Caribbean Association of Investment Promotion Agencies in collaboration with Invest Turks and Caicos Agency welcomed over 20 individuals to the shores of the Turks and Caicos Islands for a social media training specifically designed for Investment Promotion Agencies (IPA).

The two-day training, which took place July 25th and 26th, included representatives from more than 12 Caribbean Countries, educated the IPAs in the effective and appropriate use of social media marketing in investment promotion, and equipped IPAs for the development and execution of a social media strategy for their institutions.

The training was facilitated by Conway Inc., one of the world’s leading events firms on foreign direct investment and global corporate location trends. The intensive social media training programme, led by internationally based, expert Site Selection and FDI Consultants, covered essential topics from Digital Policy: Guidelines and Rules for Social Media, Social Media for Crisis Management to Lead Generation using Social Media.

For Caribbean IPAs, the use of social media in promotional efforts could be of significant benefit if effectively and appropriately utilized,” said VP of Marketing and Promotion for Invest TCI, Trina Adams-Smith.  “In today’s digital market, If IPA’s do not have an active presence on social media, they can miss out on important relationships, potential leads and an entire audience who are seeking investment opportunities in the region.”

Acting CEO for Invest TCI, Angela Musgrove stated, Invest Turks and Caicos was pleased for the strategic opportunity to partner with CAIPA and co-host the training in the TCI.  The partnership will showcase and promote the Turks and Caicos Islands to CAIPA members and Conway Inc. who are well connected in the industry.  It supports the position of the Agency for continuous and relevant capacity building for its team members.  It also reinforces TCIG’s commitment to encouraging investment development for the Islands and will allow Invest TCI to network and build a stronger relationship with CAIPA and fellow IPAs.
