Public Notice: TCI Red Cross & DDME hosts Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training

#Providenciales, August 21, 2018 – Turks and Caicos – The Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) Red Cross in conjunction with the Department of Disaster Management and Emergency (DDME), continues its series of two-day Training Workshops on Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). These Workshops are scheduled to be held as follows:

The aim of this CERT Training is to provide the opportunity for community members to become more resilient to natural and man-made hazards events.  The training is also designed to educate persons on Comprehensive Disaster Management; whilst teaching them basic response skills such as, fire safety, light search and rescue, team organizations and basic disaster medical operations. Additionally, this training will provide DDME with a cadre of volunteers who are trained and can be of invaluable assistance to the Department when impacted.

The Facilitators for the training will be a team of specialist from various disciplines and agencies such as the Department of Disaster Management and Emergencies, Turks and Caicos Islands Red Cross and the Fire Department.
