Invest Turks and Caicos Agency attends major summit, third straight year

#Miami, FL – July 16, 2018 – USA – Invest Turks and Caicos Agency team spent the first half of 2018 attending major meetings across the region, including the Caribbean Hotel & Resort Investment Summit (CHRIS).

The Summit, held in Miami, Florida attracted hundreds of delegates and was geared toward Investors, Owners, Lenders, Developers, Hotel Chain/Management Company Executives, Investment Bankers, Vacation Ownership Executives, Financial Advisors, Real Estate & Financial Intermediaries, Builders, Consultants, Lawyers, Architects & Designers, Government Tourism Officials, and Media.

Speakers of the 2018 Summit included Frank Comito, CEO and Director General of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association, CHTA who delved into ‘Tourism Performance and Highlights’ as well as Gary Brough, Managing Director of KPMG, TCI who addressed the topic ‘The Lending Outlook. The Summit featured a range of panel discussions including one where Graeme Davis, of the region’s newest, largest resort – Baha Mar located in Nassau, Bahamas, joined four other hotel executives for a ‘View from the Boardroom’.

From Invest Turks and Caicos Agency, Vice-president of Marketing and Promotion, Trina Adams-Smith and Investment Services Executive, Rochelle Thompson attended and explained that essentially, the purpose of their participation was to promote the Islands as an attractive destination for foreign investment.

“CHRIS provides a great platform for the Agency to meet with potential investors and network with industry colleagues,” stated Vice-President of Marketing and Promotion, Trina Adams-Smith.  “It is important for us to frequent these industry events and showcase the Turks and Caicos Islands as it helps to builds awareness of the Agency and put the Turks and Caicos at the forefront of investors.  We look forward to continuing our conversations with investors we’ve met and hope to generate leads for the Agency.

It was the third year running for Turks and Caicos representation at CHRIS through its Investment Agency.  The theme for CHRIS 2018, held at the JW Marriott in Miami, Florida was ‘A Spectrum of Opportunities’.
