BAHAMAS: Distinguished Lecture — “Cooperatives: Key Players in a WTO Environment”

#Nassau, July 2, 2018 – Bahamas – The Department of Cooperative Development and Ministry of Agriculture and Marine Resources under its Distinguished Lecture series hosted a presentation entitled, “Cooperatives: Key Players in a WTO Environment.”  The lecture was given by University of The Bahamas (UB) Professor and author of ‘Tomato Economics: Shifting Economies from Scarcity to Abundance,’ Dr. Olivia C. Saunders at UB’s Harry C. Moore Library & Information Center, June 28, 2018.

Bahamas League of Cooperatives Limited President, Errington Thompson in remarks stated, “Our agriculturalists are concerned about food and nutrition security primarily because they are of the view that no sovereign nation should rely on others to feed them.”  Dr. Saunders is pictured seated next to Mr. Thompson, just prior to the start of the Lecture.

Also present was Chairman of the Bahamas Agriculture and Marine Science Institute (BAMSI), Tennyson Wells (seated second left in the group).
