RECALL of Hormel Food Corp Canned Pork & Chicken Products That Maybe Contaminated with Foreign Matter, Specifically Pieces of Metal

#Providenciales, June 12, 2018 – Turks and Caicos – The Animal Health Division of the Department of Agriculture, Turks and Caicos Islands wishes to inform the public, that it is issuing an immediate recall for canned pork and chicken products (Recall 041-2018) imported by Graceway Trading Ltd.

The initial recall was issued by the Hormel Food Corp., a Freemont, NE establishment on the 25th May 2018, the company is recalling approximately 228,614 pounds of canned pork and chicken product contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically pieces of metal.

The United States Department of Agriculture has learned that some of the recalled products were exported to the Turks and Caicos Islands and it was confirmed by The Caribbean Basin Agricultural Trade Office (CBATO) on the 6th June, 2018.

Members of the Public are being advised, NOT TO CONSUME the product but rather return it to the place of purchase or immediately dispose of the product. The Agriculture Department has ensured that all remaining product have been removed from the shelves.
