#Nassau, June 1, 2018 – Bahamas – The family of the late Sir Randol Fawkes would like to express our profound sadness with regard to the tragedy that occurred on the parade when a truck, unfortunately, made its way into a group of people on the march. Four people are confirmed dead and over twenty were injured.

Prior to that incident my mother and I had stationed ourselves on Bay Street where we enjoyed the warm camaraderie of trade unionist as they passed us in Rawson Square.

May God bless the departed souls of these workers who came out to lend solidarity and support to the movement. They will never be forgotten.

The pictures in the previous post reflect the first quarter of the parade which was halted after the accident.

NOTE: Early reports indicate four people were killed and 24 injured.
