TCI: Illegal Entry

#TurksandCaicos, May 14, 2018 – Providenciales – On Saturday, May 12th around 9:00 a.m., the United States Coast Guard reported to Police that they had spotted a vessel 15 miles South of Grand Turk. The illegal Haitians were escorted to the South Dock Port on Grand Turk via the US Coast Guard for processing by Immigration Officials.

A total of  38 Haitians, 29 males and 9 females were later transported to the Detention Centre in Providenciales.

Police and Immigration Officials are also investigating the landing of an Illegal Haitian Sloop on Saturday, May 12th, 2018 around 8:00 a.m. It was reported to 911 Central that a number of illegal persons were seen running in the area of North West Point.

Anyone with information into the landing of these or any Illegal Vessel into the Turks and Caicos Islands please come forward, dial 911, contact the Chalk Sound Police Station at 338-5901, 941-8082 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-8477.
