#TurksandCaicos, May 03, 2018 – Providenciales – According to weather information received from the Bahamas Department of Meteorology, a stationary front across the Central Bahamas, along with a surface trough in the vicinity of the Southeast Bahamas (including the Turks and Caicos Islands), will continue to produce unstable conditions across the area today.

The forecast further states that a disturbance is expected to develop in the vicinity of the Southeast Bahamas and TCI  on Friday 4th May 2018.  This area should drift Southwestwards along with an Upper Level Low to enhance showers and thunderstorm activity over the entire Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands throughout the weekend.

In light of the impending weather for the Turks and Caicos Islands over the weekend,   the department of Department of Disaster Management and Emergencies (DDME) is encouraging all residents(especially those living in low-lying and coastal areas) to ensure that their homes and contents are protected in the event of flooding.

Residents are also reminded that June 1st marks the beginning of the Atlantic Hurricane Season.  #AREYouPrepared!
