FortisTCI Unveils EV and EV Public Charging Station

#TurksandCaicos, May 02, 2018 – Providenciales – FortisTCI on Saturday unveiled its newest effort in clean energy solutions … an electric vehicle and the first public EV charging station for the Turks and Caicos Islands.  Rachell Roullet of Fortis says it is a brilliant stride and puts the TCI in league with nations adapting for healthier environments.

“This week, Turks and Caicos Islands was taken off the list of the remaining islands without any proper charging stations.”

Automotive companies locally are now challenged by FortisTCI to expand their vehicle offerings to include EVs or Electric vehicles and even banks were nudged to support purchases of these automobiles which have virtually no carbon footprint.

“We want to offer more energy efficiency solutions for the Turks and Caicos Islands and do our part to limit climate change.  Electric vehicle is one way to achieve a lower carbon economy.”

Eddinton Powell, CEO of FortisTCI was on hand for the occasion and highlighted the many vehicle manufacturers embracing EVs, informing that some 750,000 electric cars were sold globally in 2016.

“Electrical vehicle sales globally are without a doubt on a steady rise as countries work to promote energy efficiency and combat climate change.”

House Member, Josephine Connolly got to ride, some Junior Achievers shared their take on the cool and cute electric car which can charge up at the FortisTCI headquarters on Leeward Highway.

“I think its really economicall and environmentally safe, that’s what I’m really down for, the environment.  It seems like it’s really good for the environment instead of using all that gas and polluting everywhere, that’s what I’m really in to.”

“It could charge, because you know when your batter is dead and now you have to wait until somebody is passing across to help you, now you can just go by Fortis and you just charge you thing for one hour, it’s really good.”
