#TurksandCaicos, April 26, 2018 – Providenciales – In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, Clement Howell High School hosted a group of students from the Ashley Learning Centre.  The school works closely with the Centre where some of our teachers visit and assist with teaching of the students especially Music.  The Tourism Club students are volunteers at the Centre working with the students on a regular basis and providing some basic items towards preparation of breakfast, snack or lunch.

The students and teacher made a courtesy call on the Principal and then they received a tour of the school.  The students welcomed the group, and some participated in the tour with them.  The groups of students who came enjoyed interacting with the students from Clement Howell and they were excited to be in ‘regular school’.

They met other teachers in the staff rooms, toured the labs and ended with a session at the Music room.  The students were able to play instruments and for those who are already knowledgeable of playing the instruments, they showed their skills.

The teachers wore T-shirts to celebrate the initiative.  They also organized a small fundraising effort in order to make a contribution to the Centre on behalf of the school.  The school will continue to support the Centre.
