Grand Turk man critical after weekend accident, family reports

#TurksandCaicos, April 27, 2018 – Grand Turk – An appeal for blood donations at hospital in Nassau are posted on social media, following a severe traffic accident in Grand Turk where Carlton Williams was critically injured when his motorbike and a mid-sized jeep collided.

A member of the family wrote on Monday that, “At this time he is urgently in need of blood.  I’m pleading to anyone of you living in The Bahamas or has relatives in Nassau to lend us a helping hand.  You would have to visit the blood lab at Doctors Hospital and inform them that you came to give blood for Mr. Carlton Williams.”

Police on Monday, in a media release said: “Traffic Police on Grand Turk are investigating an Osbourne Road Traffic incident that was reported to 911 on Friday, April 20th, 2017 at 5:45 p.m., that left one man seriously injured.  The Injured man who was driving a motorcycle was transported to the Cockburn Town Medical Center and later flown out for further treatment.
The green Suzuki Vitara Jeep driven by a 42-year-old woman received damages to the rear right passenger door and glass, while the Motor Cycle received damages to the front handlebar and front bumper.

Mr. Williams was severely injured in that Friday evening collision; it was feared he would not make it.  Yet, he is surviving and the family is asking for blood donations and lots and lots of prayers.
