#Caribbean – A job bank has been created by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association and the CHTA explains that it was born of “a need for qualified talent to connect with seasonal, temporary and permanent job vacancies.”  Several member countries were severely impacted by the 2017 Atlantic Hurricane Season and jobs were either temporarily or permanently lost.  The CHTA explained in a new release that “this is an excellent opportunity to help the hospitality and tourism industry, especially in affected destinations, find qualified candidates and exciting vacancies.  Access the Caribbean Tourism Job Bank today to search for positions and/or post a job.  The job bank is open to both members and non members who want to list job openings.

#Barbados – The roadway renamed in honour of Barbadian superstar Rihanna is the leading driving tourist attraction in the home country of the Grammy award winning singer.  Tourism Minister, Richard Sealy in January reported that since the refurbishment of the roadway by the Barbados Tourism Product Authority and the renaming of the strip to Rihanna Drive… that drive is getting some 1,000 visitors per day.  Taxi Drivers say it is the most requested spot to be seen by cruise ship passengers in particular.  Rihanna is a tourism ambassador for her country, Barbados.
